Thought I'd get all my new stuff out this week. Here's a video with some pickin on my new axe and a description of what's it's all about.

Maple saddle

Hi There

I was reading some topics on a blues site recently about bridge material.  Now I started with the Dobro so I can't really compare, but why is it that National reso players think ebony capped maple is a terrible idea?  I get that biscuit resonators are maybe more brash from the off set, but they also have the opinion that ebony ruins Dobro's and well, everything.  I think it's complete rubbish personally.  The comment "I would go for tone and sweetness any day over bright and brittle." really got my goat up.

I think the blues and Hawaiian guys are a *lot* more traditional, which goes some way to explain it, but just out of interest why is it that straight maple is avoided for spider resonators?

Cheers
