I'll say that I'm pleasantly surprised that Ivan received the recognition, which means people are paying attention to what a fine talent he is.
Rob? The only surprise there in the past several years was when Uncle Phil broke the streak one year and won for dobro, and that was well-deserved indeed.
Otherwise you can pretty much take it to the bank the Rob needs to add more shelves in the trophy room.

Ivan recorded some nice tracks to demo the Beard Jerry Douglas Signature guitar at Greg Boyd House of Fine Musical Instruments in Missoula, Montana.
I'm linking to the sound clips 'cause the guitar sounds so sweet and Ivan's playing is just grand. On Track one, he plays a bunch of melody lines / scales and then when he rakes a chord you just want to curl up on the floor in a foetal position.

Great to hear about, Ivan as co-writer of the song. Congratulations, bro!
And (yawn) congratulations to Rob for winning what: number 11?

Play it 100 times you know it 1000 times you own it .... Dobropilot the bad luftpostmeister
Congratulations, Ivan. It's kind of nice when your work is appreciated. May this be the first of a long string of awards and record sales.
Not surprised at all. About either award.
So many good players and writers out there. But Rob and Ivan on top. Outstanding. And deserved.

Oh, I love Dan Paisley's recording of "Mama's Flowers."

Man, those clips are great. The last one is stylistically where I would like to move towards. Are all of those in G tuning?
And Congrats Ivan on a huge honor!
Peace and Hope
Yes.
Isn't the reso fun?
Yeah. I've been playing about 4 months, and I can almost not go a day without playing. I'm gonna be dissecting those clips.
