Oh my goodness JD, the first glance at the photo of the back of that guitar sucked the breath right out my lungs!
It's only 9:37 in California! And that whole thing you did next to the strap button is incredible.
Lemme guess, the butt detail is koa with a herringbone stripe?
Lovely looking reso, JD! As fortune would have it, I think it just might be possible for me to make it up to Knoxville on the 15th...The drive from Atlanta is only 3 or 3 and 1/2 hours or so... So my question is: would it be possible for me to come and meet you and your resos in person without registering for the Kaufman camp? Feel free to PM me with the details.
Best regards,
David
Beautiful work, JD! Where do you get Brazilian nowadays? It must be expensive.

Thanks , Markinsonoma , David , Greg ,.. That style of tail splice is time consuming , but worth it . I'll give you my cell David,.... we could get together prior to Johnny B's Wed nite show .
Greg , I've been sitting on a few set's that I bought a few yrs back,..an your right ,..good old growth brazilian is very expensive . I like working with it ,..make's the shop smell like black licorice and alway's builds a great sounding guitar . Their slicing an selling stump wood now ,...but it's too compacted to build with . Taps like cardboard !
Stunning !! So does this Bad Boy Belong to Bellar ?
JD, exquisite looking dobro. They're always nice but the Brazilian is especially tasty.
JD, do you happen to have a shot of the back of the neck and heel ?
This is a fabulous looking guitar... and I love your new 'signature' fretboard extension also !
